When the stupid just keeps on coming... By Piandora

Once again, we have reached Friday, and now it's up to me to deliver you some of the funniest and most bizarre stories that have rummaged the news world this past week. This week is going to cover my absolute favorite topic: really stupid people! Of course not all people can be Einsteins and rocket scientists, but the degree of stupidity in some people never seizes to amaze me! The stories I've collected for you this week showcases a variety of ignorance and really, really dumb behaviour, which goes to show that some people probably should have paid some more attention at school...

The first idiot of the week is from South Africa, and was the lucky winner of a trip in one of the South African Air Force's Pilatus PC-7 Mk II planes. During a show at Langebaanweg airfield, 80 miles north of Cape Town, conducted by South Africa's Silver Falcons, this happy camper was taken for a joy ride alongside an experienced pilot. During an advanced mid-air manoeuvre, the unidentified man was scrambling around the cockpit, and reached for something to steady himself, when he accidentally pulled the one and only handle he repeatedly had been told NOT to pull- the black and yellow emergency lever between his legs! By pulling this, our dumbass activated the catapult seat of the aircraft, resulting in him ejecting himself and his seat out of the plane, and 100 meters up in the air! Luckily, the catapult seat had a built-in parachute, which activates itself, so our "hero" floated back onto solid ground unharmed...talk about luck!

Our next dumb specimen hail from South Korea, and can certainly be called a very determined woman! 68-year old Cha Sa-soon really, really wants a drivers license, and has aspired to get one since 2005. But her biggest problem seems to be that she really hasn't got the brains for it! Cha Sa-soon failed the theoretical part of her drivers license test the first time back in 05; in South Korea you need to score over 60% correct answers in order to pass the test. Cha Sa-soon scored about 30% the first time! But, as she's really determined to get this damn license, she has taken the test almost daily ever since, which amounts to about 950 times! And still, she can't manage to score more than 30-50%! Stupid? Oh year! Stubborn? Even more so! After trying to pass the test almost a thousand times, Cha Sa-soon finally this week managed to score over the magical 60%. But she still has to pass the practical part of the test before she can call herself a licensed driver. I wonder how many attempts she's going to need for that one?

Last but not least, I've encountered an article that shows that not only is the world packed with really stupid adults; their ignorance is affecting the children as well! The British Veteran's charity, Erskine, has recently conducted a survey among children between the ages of 9-11 years, trying to map the children's knowledge of the two worlds wars. And the results were...embarrassing, to say it the least! One in four of the 2000 children participating said they did not ever think about soldiers who died in the worlds wars, and 40% had no idea when Remembrance Day is. Furthermore, one in six youngsters believed Auschwitz was a theme park - and one in 12 thought the Blitz was a European clean-up operation following World War II. But most shockingly of all- one in 20 British schoolchildren thinks Adolf Hitler was a German football manager! Someone really needs to get these kids some intensive history classes, before they end up being as dumb as the two examples above!
